Melissa Kliemann is a dedicated Associate Attorney at Kirsch Daskas Law Group, committed to defending the rights of individuals facing criminal charges and advocating for students’ educational rights. With a Bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University and a Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School, Melissa brings a strong educational background to her practice. During law school, she interned at various esteemed organizations, including the Free Legal Aid Clinic, Washtenaw County Public Defender, Federal Defender Office, and ACLU, where she gained valuable experience in trials and appeals.

Outside of her legal work, Melissa enjoys writing, playing guitar and piano, crafting, and spending time with her pit bull. Her diverse interests reflect her creativity and passion for both advocacy and personal fulfillment.

At KDLG, Melissa defends against misdemeanor and felony charges, handles criminal and educational appeals, and advocates for students’ educational rights. Her primary focus is on criminal felony charges, including firearms offenses, alcohol-related offenses, drug-related offenses, and assaults.

Melissa’s approach to assisting clients during challenging times is rooted in empathy, respect, and active listening. She understands the gravity of her clients’ situations and ensures they feel heard and supported throughout the legal process. In her role, Melissa prioritizes a client-centered approach to law, advising clients on their best interests while respecting their autonomy in decision-making. With degrees in writing and psychology, as well as graduate-level studies in social work, Melissa brings a unique perspective to her practice. Her background equips her with the skills to write compelling legal arguments and to address the holistic needs of her clients, including mental health considerations and access to resources.
